It is a natural feature in South Africa and it is located in Mpumalanga province. It forms part of the northern section of the Drakensberg escarpment. The canyon is 25 km in length and it consists mostly of red sandstone. It is one of the largest canyons in the world and, after the Fish River Canyon, it is the second largest canyon in Africa. It is certainly the largest green canyon.
You can drive on the escarpment, and this route is called the Panorama Route, and there are different look out points, where you can stop and get out of your vehicle to take a look. Beside of the number of waterfalls there is the Three Rondawels, God's Window, Pinnacle and Bourke's Luck Potholes.
You will soon see why it is known as one of the great wonders of nature in Africa.
